Team, let’s chat consistency.
The aim of the game here is to develop a healthy, balanced approach to wellness. Repeated habits that occurred over time to lead you back home to your best self. You are the sum of your repeated habits, not the outliers.
It’s not what happens in one day or a short amount of time, it’s what happens consistently. If you’re consistently showing up, if you’re consistently following habits that serve you and your goals, you’re going to get great results. The kind of results that spur you on to stay on track for most of the year. Momentum matters.
You BECOME that girl who makes healthy choices for her body MOST of the time. You’re the girl that trains consistently and has a beautiful life balance, feels energised, happy and healthy.
Conversely, if more often than not you’re skipping workouts, if you’re choosing to eat food that doesn’t nourish your body, you’re not going to see the results you would like. One hot day does not make a summer. I try to explain this a lot to nutrition clients – often we have a tendency to go all in at 100% for a little while, and then we have one ‘off-day’ and we throw in the towel. I FUCKED UP, I’m done. That’s not you, anymore. This time, you’re going 80% in, but you’re going for the long-term. You’re building a healthy, balanced LIFE – not a quick fix with an end date.
But how to get back on track?
To move forward, remind yourself this doesn’t define you as a person. It’s normal, and healthy.
Does it define you as a person? No. Is it who you are normally? No.
Does it represent your usual approach? Also no.
Instead of aiming for 100% perfection or adherence, we know that life happens. We know there’s often a special occasion around the corner, or a variation, or a wedding where your usual habits fall by the wayside. That’s why we ask you to be consistent 80% of the time. You are not a robot – perfection isn’t possible.
Show up for yourself day after day, month after month, whilst allowing for those little life moments that are filled with joy.
You are the product of the habits you perform day in, day out – not the outliers. You got this, babe.
I can’t wait to see and hear about your mental and physical transformations over the last 12 weeks. Here’s to the next block…I can’t wait to see you there and keep you accountable on a fresh new challenge.
